Shahjalal Madrasa & EatimKhana Trust was first established in 1997 as a small institute in Sulemanpur, Sunamganj by the charity’s founder Syed MoulanaShamsuzzaman.
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful (in Arabic and English)
This establishment is situated in a poor and destitute area of Sunamgonj where education is limited and no provisions for higher education within 15 mile radius. Shahjalal Madrasa &EatimKhana Trust was built in order to fulfil the needs of these poor, destitute children so we can provide them with an enlightened and prosperous future.
In 2008 Shahjalal Madrasa & Eatim Khana Trust became a registered charity in the UK and Alhumdullilah, through successful fundraising programmes and generous donations from the UK public we were able to grow and now provide education for approximately 700 students from class 1 to Alim (A-Level) classes for poor and orphan students. Insha Allah we are hoping to introduce Title Jamat classes in the upcoming year but we need more funding to make this possible. Also providing Hafiz-ul-Quran classes to poor/orphan boys and girls with free food and accommodation. (include footage of students in class)
Our charity aims to provide free accommodation, food, uniform, class and exam fees to poor and orphan children of Sunamganj. We also provide transport via boats during monsoon season to surrounding villages to collect students. Only through education, we can try to eradicate poverty in the most deprived areas of Sunamganj which will enable students to become self-sufficient and earn a living and provide an income for their own families.
